Prep Talk: Live scoring from WIAA state girls golf meet
By ROB HERNANDEZ

As I sit here writing a column about the significant advances the WIAA has made during Doug Chickering's 23 years as executive director, along comes another -- livie scoring from the WIAA state girls golf tournament, which began today at University Ridge.

With the help of Golfstat, the online leader in live scoring for most collegiate meets, you can follow the state meet like I am (as I get other work done) -- on the Internet. Of course, you can also check back here later for stories by Wisconsin State Journal reporters Benjamin Worgull and Bill Cooney, who are covering the Division 1 and 2 competition, respectively.

If you don't have time to click on these links, I can tell you that Madison Edgewood appears well on its way to its eighth straight title, leading the way in Division 2. But there's a great battle going on individually between three-time defending champion Lindsay Danielson of Osceola and Allyssa Ferrell of Edgerton.

In Division 1, Kettle Moraine, Green Bay Notre Dam and Mequon Homestead are battling for the top spot. Individually, Tory Bauman of Glendale Nicolet and Jackie Shepherd are the only players under par after nine holes.

In the meantime, click here to check the scores of your favorite state qualifiers:
