Spiteful fans betray Brett Favre's legacy
Wearing T-shirts that remember Brett Favre as "Brent" is not cute and identifies a few spiteful Packer fans.
The knowledgeable ones remember that nasty general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy kicked Brett Favre out of Green Bay and spitefully sent him to the Jets when they knew the Vikings would be a perfect fit.
He performed for 16 years without missing a day. Injury-prone Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and 2006 back-up Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers and others have missed games from injuries.
Last year Rodgers played mediocre football with a shoulder injury. He seldom stood in the pocket to throw time-consuming short passes. He usually ran wide and threw down field, limiting defensive rest time.
The experts know Favre will only play football when he knows he can play great. He is not a spiteful person, and he still loves the Packers.

Cheer for the Vikings if they get Brett
For 16 years Brett Favre provided me with excitement, disappointment and frustration -- and he always entertained.
For over 50 years I've been a Green Bay fan, but no longer. Green Bay management turned against Favre. So what if he had second thoughts. He wanted to play, he wanted Randy Moss as a receiver. Most fans didn't want Moss, but Favre just wanted a receiver who was good for the team. He hedged on retirement when the receiver wasn't there for him. So what?
Next to Green Bay, my choice to win was the Vikings. And with Favre, they may do it.

Favre too big a star for McCarthy, Thompson
The other day I came across my Packer sweatshirts, the ones that said North Division Champions, then two in a row, then three in a row.
Nobody can ever wipe out all the love and glory years Brett Favre gave us. Through all his personal tragedies he kept playing and winning. He gave us 16 of the best years of his life.
Then he was railroaded out of Green Bay. What a shame that he was just too big a star for Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson.
When Favre was a Jet, so was I. If Favre becomes a Viking, so will I.
All the magic of Lambeau Field left with Favre. So if the Packers tank again this year without number four, I will probably be glad. He deserved better. He made us happy.
