Two people were arrested and a 41-year-old woman suffered a broken jaw after a pair of violent disputes in a Beltline hotel room this week, Madison police said.
Officers went to a room at the Highlander Motor Inn, 4353 W. Beltline, just after 3 a.m. Thursday after getting a call about a disturbance there. A 59-year-old Madison man, George M. Baugh, greeted them with a can of Olde English beer in one hand and a stab wound in the other, police said.
Inside, the victim in the case gave officers several accounts of what had happened — all of which had to do with a struggle over a knife — before telling them that she suffered her black eye and broken jaw in an attack three days earlier in the same room. Police said the woman identified Baugh as her attacker and told them Baugh had kicked her in the head several times for no reason.
Baugh was tentatively charged with substantial battery in the earlier attack.
A second woman police believe was in the room when Baugh was stabbed and the victim received an arm wound Thursday was arrested as well. Latonya S. Wilson, 36, of Madison, was found in another hotel room and was tentatively charged with obstruction of police and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as arrested on a probation violation.
